David Builes wins 2022 Sanders Metaphysics Prize

Sept. 30, 2022

Assistant Professor David Builes and Michele Odisseas Impagnatiello, fifth-year graduate student in philosophy at the Massachusettes Institute of Technology, have been awarded the 2022 Sanders Prize in Metaphysics for their article, “An Empirical Argument for Presentism.”   Sponsored by the Marc Sanders Foundation, the biennial prize awards $5,000 to the winning essay which will also be published in Oxford Studies in Metaphysics. This year’s judges found the Builes and Impagnatiello essay “to be a creative, original model of scientifically informed metaphysics, explaining what is needed from physics in the simplest terms, while still allowing the authors to make their case.”

Congratulations David and Michele!
