Shortly before finishing up her term as Dean of Faculty and becoming Provost, Deborah Prentice sent the following to faculty: “I am very pleased to announce that, effective July 1, 2017, Sarah-Jane Leslie, Class of 1943 Professor Philosophy, will be working in the Office of the Dean of the Faculty in a newly established, half-time position as Vice Dean for Faculty Development. In this new position, Sarah-Jane will take over the portfolio previously managed by Joan Girgus. She will draw upon many of the experiences she had over the last year when she worked with us on several family friendly initiatives. In addition, she will manage the onboarding process for new faculty, oversee relocation matters such as partner placement, schools, daycare, etc., and provide guidance to new faculty to ease them into life at Princeton. She will advise faculty on retirement planning matters and will take an active role in promoting mentorship for faculty at every stage of their careers. Sarah-Jane will collaborate with department chairs and managers and with Senior Associate Dean Toni Turano and other members of the DOF staff."
Sarah-Jane Leslie named Vice Dean for Faculty Development.
