The Department of Philosophy congratulates philosophy major Joshua Yang '25 on receiving a Gates Cambridge Scholarship. Yang is one of only 35 students in the United States to receive the prestigious scholarship this year. 

Established in 2000 through a donation from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the scholarship program recognizes outstanding academic achievement, leadership and "a commitment to improving the lives of others," and fully funds postgraduate study and research in any subject at the University of Cambridge. Yang, who is minoring in journalism, plans to pursue an MPhil in Modern South Asian Studies at Cambridge.
