Ph.D., Harvard. Professor Harman is interested in theoretical and practical reasoning, learning theory, philosophy of language, philosophy of mind, epistemology and ethics. His books include An Elementary Introduction to Statistical Learning Theory and Reliable Reasoning (both co-authored with Sanjeev Kulkarni); Change in View; Reasoning, Meaning and Mind; Explaining Value; and Moral Relativism and Moral Objectivity (co-authored with Judith Jarvis Thomson). He is editor of On Noam Chomsky and Conceptions of the Human Mind, and is co-editor with Donald Davidson of Semantics of Natural Language and The Logic of Grammar.
